About Shazia's work

Shazia spends a great deal of her time on location, drawing and taking photographs of the landscapes that inspire her. Back in the studio she paints, working with various tools and her specific technique. Shazia engages with her tools and her technique much like a scientist, working with a precision and a lightness of touch which are the key elements of the creative process.

“By using various tools and techniques e.g. sponges, palette knifes, you can create marks that are organic, unplanned. Chance and random interference are essential in my work, elements of the creative process for me is organic.”
