Trying to capture a moving sky is something I am always trying to aspire to. This painting for me represents the movement of light that can happen in a sky. The dark area to the left hand side of the horizon and the light on the right to the horizon in this painting was a tremendous achievement for me in paint.

West Wittering has a huge expansive beach and this painting really captures a sense of distance. It is these painterly incidents that make the painting work. Showing a painting that has movement and energy.
