That moment when light breaks through clouds is pure magic at Holkham, and here I wanted to capture exactly that.

Using lighter, more feather-like strokes, I built up layers to show how the sunbeams pierced through the cloud cover, creating a more subtle effect on the beach below.

The palette stayed deliberately subtle - soft lilacs and pearls in the sand, touches of turquoise in the distant sea, while the yellow light seemed to dance across the whole scene.

My marks became more fluid here, letting the paint suggest the way light transforms an entire landscape in these fleeting moments.
