There's a spot in the dunes at East Head where you can sit and watch the world go by. It's one of the most spectacular places to reset your mind.

I'm always trying to capture moving light over land, and this was a particularly interesting day. The cloud formations kept shifting, building soft shapes that I had to chase across the canvas, layer by layer. The dune grasses frame the view like a doorway to the sea.

That path of pale sand leading your eye through to the water and the headland beyond. I love these quieter paintings. They ask you to slow down. Something we all need a reminder to do from time to time.
