The sunsets on West Wittering Beach have become some of my favourite subjects to paint over the years. I don't just see them anymore. I feel their presence, and the challenge is interpreting that feeling onto canvas.

This is the last light of the day, looking out towards the Isle of Wight. The sky holds so much colour at this hour: warm golds and pinks breaking through heavier clouds, the light catching the wet sand below. These paintings are a journey in themselves.

Every sunset teaches me something new about colour, about how light behaves in those final moments before it goes. I'm extremely excited by this one.
