Sat In The Dunes At East Head III
Sat In The Dunes At East Head III
Sat in the dunes at East Head looking towards the Isle of Wight in late summer is probably my favourite place in the world. I know I've painted this scene a lot (I know I've said this before!), but I keep coming back to it because capturing the right light here is an ongoing challenge—one I don't think I'll ever stop trying to solve.
I'm obsessed with clouds. Not just their shape and colour, but getting the marks to feel real—like you're sitting in a moving scene, surrounded by this beautiful landscape. When the grasses are fully out at East Head and the light hits just right, it's unforgettable. This piece is about capturing that particular moment when everything comes together.
