Storm Over Traigh Beach, Rùm and Eigg, Scotland

£900.00

Capturing drama is something I am obsessive about. At certain times of the year, the light shows appear constantly on the west coast of Scotland, and this particular stretch between Arisaig and Mallaig delivers some of the most spectacular moments.

Traigh Beach is a stunning beach full of intense beauty where you can clearly see the jewels of the ocean, Rùm and Eigg. These islands sit in the Sea of the Hebrides, part of the Inner Hebrides group, and their distinctive profiles are unmistakable from this viewpoint.

I wanted to capture that moment when the storm clouds are building but the sun still manages to break through, creating that silver shimmering path across the water. The panoramic format felt essential for this piece, allowing you to experience the full drama of the scene from the brilliant blue sky on the left to the dark, brooding storm clouds gathering on the right.

Capturing that silver shimmering sea movement is very tricky, but in this piece I feel I'm there again, standing on that beautiful beach watching nature put on one of her most incredible performances.
