The morning light at Holkham brought out unexpected colours in the landscape that day.

I used a lighter touch here, with splattered paint and delicate marks to capture the beach's subtle variations - hints of lilac and rose in the sand, while touches of turquoise brightened the sea.

The pine-topped dunes provided a strong dark line against those billowing clouds, which I built up in layers of pearl and cream against the bright blue sky.

Through varied mark-making and a softer palette, I aimed to capture that fresh, clear quality of a Norfolk morning when everything feels newly washed by the tide.
