The dramatic sky above reflects the changeable nature of our coastal weather—those brilliant blues broken by sweeping clouds that create such dynamic light across the water. In the distance, the familiar silhouette of the Isle of Wight anchors the horizon, providing that sense of place that makes this view so distinctive.

Being in the water at the beach is quite an experience, and I've tried to capture the sea's sheer energy through my brushwork. I used a combination of golden liquid acrylics and oils to achieve the painting's watery feel, building up layers to show the foam and spray of the waves as they surge and retreat around you.
